Character Name: Nena Trinity
Character Series:Gundam 00
Character Age: 17
Background
: http://gundam.wikia.com/wiki/Nena_Trinity If you need clarification on anything, please ask! She’s taken from Season 1, right as she reaches Wang Liu Mei.

Personality:

Nena Trinity’s personality is nothing more than the word childish but further glances can see that while she is extremely immature, Nena has dashes of adolescence, such as her flirtatious behavior or her ability to, when pushed with something extremely important, think of reasonable overarching goals that go well beyond the realm of a child’s planning skills. Nena is impulsive, rude, egotistical and arrogant, especially the latter two when her brothers are involved. She may come off as a person with no redeemable traits, but in truth she is fairly happy, upbeat, carefree, very determined (one can interpret this as stubborn) and has an immense love for her brothers whom she is willing to obey them at any cost.

Nena is very childish. She’s egotistical as a result of her brothers constantly doting on her and believing she’s in the right. This is best evidenced as (be prepared for this incident being mentioned a lot as it show cases much Nena’s behavior in just 2 and a half minutes) blows up a peaceful, civilian wedding because she was too busy saving the world and they were “playing”. She doesn’t blow it up once but twice, defying all thoughts that it was an accident. Yet, with a brief mention of hitting the wrong switch, Michael loops Nena’s outright sadistic and monstrous behavior into just tiredness from Nonstop Missions and Johann cautions Nena from straying too far. She holds her brothers to an impossibly high standard. When they fight (Nena herself sits out fighting because her Gundam was made to support and reinforce her brother’s Gundams, and for some stealth missions), she refers to them as unbeatable casually as they rescue Setsuna, and later fight Setsuna and Tieria. She expresses visible shock and outrage that Ali-Al was able to kill Michael, her brother, really quickly and move onto Johann. She tends to have a high opinion of herself, referring to herself as a pilot with great excitement and, when faced with an accusation that she is not an actual Meister, gets very, very, peeved. Wang Liu Mei has noticed this ego and repeatedly called her out saying she wasn’t as special as she could possibly imagine. She also wants everything she can to go her way. The second something happens that doesn’t suit her well, she throws a fit. A huge fit. An embarrassingly, large, fit. She will then lash out at the person responsible, or if no one is responsible .....then good luck. You’ll need it with her huge Gundam firing ad nauseam.

One example of this is after our obligatory asexual protagonist Setsuna F. Seiei rejects her flirtatious behavior she snaps and says that it’d be wise not to piss her off. Another example is again, the Wedding Incident, because she can’t play and is working nonstop from missions, she finds it all right to kill everyone in a wedding. Because no one is responsible, she just kills people that she believes currently has it better than her. No one ever bothered to point out her logic makes no sense, as doing so (i.e, asserting your own opinion over Nena’s) would resort to her throwing yet another fit. When Wang Liu Mei decides to part ways from Celestial Being and join the Innovators (Who she hated for killing her brothers) Nena’s response is to betray her, screw up any plans she has (leaking Memento Mori’s blueprints to Celestial Being) and then repeatedly tries to kill her.

Childlike Qualities, or qualities from a child that are considered positive or more neutral (contrasted with Childish qualities) is her general impulsiveness, her general content mood, huge love for her brothers, and a mind boggling amount of pluckiness. She’s excitingly seen waving her arms around in a V-sign, a habit she does to reaffirm something, or just a joyful gesture. She seems really bright eyed and cheery, being somewhat warm and playful when interacting with the Meisters. She asks who is the pilot of Exxia. When she receives her answer she goes over and kisses him, impulsively, against his wishes. She then later excuses herself from the booooriiiiiing talk and fighting in the giant space room and decides to explore the spaceship. On the spaceship, she randomly accesses Veda for no real reason other then sheer boredom, then when questioned by Tieria about her access, just simply taunts and hints and walks away. Her impulsiveness is not always in a positive and somewhat oddly endearing light, the attack on the wedding was by pure chance and her own insane logic that puts her on a higher level than Ribbons himself. She had no idea it was there and only decided to crash it when she saw everyone else enjoying themselves. Even while she maintains a joyful gesture and level of playfulness as the Gundam is about to attack innocents, showing that she may just be happy all the time as long as she’s getting her way. She also seems relatively happy in a mobile suit just standing there supporting her brothers. Speaking of her brothers, they are the only thing she cares about in Canon. She objects to the prospect of them getting hurt in the battle, thinking as long as she loves them they’ll be all right, as shown when they try to rescue the Miesters. When Nena is about to go off the path and doing something evil and sadistic, Johann stops her in her path, and commands that she stays on his. To the surprise of anyone with a pulse, she obeys him and abandons her own selfish (and most likely harmful) objectives. She obediently follows him out of love and trust. She cries only one time during the series, and that’s their deaths. As shown in Season 2, they become her entire motivation to kill The Innovators and Ali-Al Sancheez. They’ve become her entire goal for the whole season, as she constantly schemes over which way will bring her closer to avenging her brothers. Of course, she has basic instincts like survival, but revenge out of familial love is her primary motive in most of the cases of Season 2 - especially when after Wang Liu Mei rejects Nena because Nena tried to debate with Wang Liu Mei about her actions (that is working with the people that killed her brothers) Nena simply worked against her and then tried to kill her. Nena is also very determined, or if you wish stubborn, she tried 3 times to get Setsuna to flirt with her. Each time she failed but she didn’t give up. She doesn’t back down, even in the eyes of death! She made it a personal goal to kill The Innovators - or purebred super robots, (compared to a half-breed herself) and one of the world’s top killers and soldiers. Even during her last stand with Louise, she fights to the very last breath, screaming and trying to fight back after Louise tears her limb from limb and impales her, leaving only the cockpit and even then Nena’s still fighting.

Nena, being raised by the sadistic, spiteful, and human-hating Ribbons, and being babied to the point where she thought she could do no wrong, has led her to become sadistic to lowly humans. Though she doesn’t get the moral implications and consquences behind her actions, because she lacks empathy except for people that she loves. Being only adored or loved by her brothers, Nena doesn’t really know how to care for others, taking lead from her apathetic brothers. With this, she doesn’t view the humans she kills without regret or remorse as people but as they’re just toys that will entertain her for a brief flash before she moves on. She definitely has a sadistic attribute that’s triggered when her own egotistical needs aren’t met. This includes: the wedding, her threatening Setsuna because he shoved off her affections, repeatedly blowing up Wang Liu Mei’s ship while laughing hysterically and getting lost in her thoughts to kill off those robotic super soldiers as they read her thoughts. Awkward. This suggests that Nena has a tendency to get lost in her sociopathic actions and doesn’t think about the consequences for the future. Randomly attacking people on the same side as her, blowing random things up to harm others, and even betraying Wang Liu Mei so she can attack an Innovator (on who she’s clearly outmatched) show signs that she’s very reckless. She lives in the moment and really has no plans for the future that aren’t big pictures. The only plans we see her try to carry out is eliminate war which is really vague, more of her brother’s priority and ...she probably wouldn’t carry that one out if she was smiling and giggling when she decided to make the death in til death do us part come a bit early, and kill everyone associated with her brother’s death which would take months, if not years, to readily complete and she had no surefire way of doing it either than joining up with them and betraying them when they least expected it.

Nena isn’t just a child in a busty teenager’s body with a personality and mindset from the deepest depths of hell, she also can be a bit flirtatious! Her first thought upon seeing Setsuna was to kiss him because she loved reckless men, she then hinted that if he followed her they could get a bit more intimate, and then her reaction later upon seeing him was to act how handsome he is and how he was still reckless. She is also able to comprehend mechanics and ...exceptionally complex science, as she is able to pilot both the mothership, and her own Gundam - which has a complex series of GN particles that help aid combat to her brother, which she uses fully to her advantage. She must probably know the basics of space to survive up there, too.

Nena has basic relationships, but they’re never quite reciprocated. The only love, and reciprocal relationship, she maintains is for her brothers, as explained earlier, they’re her entire motivation for Season 2. Her brothers care a big deal for her too. When Nena gets rejected by Setsuna, Michael pulls a knife out talking about how his sister is the best and how Setsuna will pay for his rejection. Johann sacrifices his own life to make sure Nena gets away safe, and unattacked. They both are quick to defend her and any action that she does no matter how convoluted or morally wrong it is. Her relationships with others are more negative. Many, including most of Celestial Being, found her suspicious and mostly ignored her. The only thing expressed about them by Celestial Being was that they were untrustworthy and exceptionally young. After finding out their routine, and unintentional, chaos they’re not too keen on her. After flirting, and kissing him against his will, Setsuna doesn’t really like her and considers her a hindrance at the most. This is shown in Season Two when he dreads her very appearance and then threatens to shoot her. Nena dislikes the Innovators and Ali-Al and holds a very depth fulfilling hatred for them, repeatedly expressing her wishes to kill all of them. Ironically, they fail to recognize her as much of a threat as she poses herself and only keep tabs on her from time to time. They’re aware of her presence, but she’s so insignificant that they’re rather apathetic and just let her hang there. She’s nothing towards them, and any attempt she has on attacking them will be quelled easily. Even more ironic, Louise hates her and wants to kill her as revenge for her own family being exterminated back in Spain during the wedding. Nena fails to see her as anything of significance and has nearly forgot her entire presence after she fired a second shot to try to kill her. She’s grateful, at the end of Season 1, for Wang Liu Mei for accepting her proposal for refuge. Wang Liu Mei just sees her as a pawn.

Abilities: Luckily for you, Nena isn’t one of those SUPER POWER girls. She can communicate with a supercomputer called Veda, which, to explain into Mayfield terms, is sort of like your telephone system except more exclusive. It’s just a giant computer that stores memories/thoughts/ideas of Innovators. She’s also able to read Innovator’s minds. This means that she and Johann could most likely communicate through quantum brain wave telepathy. She knows how to use firearms too, and has information about SPACE, which in the 1950s was crazed with Sputnik.
